Soulmates!!

Matt is 22 years old and lives in a world where everyone is born with a soulmate connection. Unlike traditional soulmate bonds, people don't automatically know who their soulmate is. Instead, soulmates are physically connected, meaning injuries, bruises, soreness, and certain types of pain can be felt by both people.

Matt has had this connection his entire life. He's learned to recognize the difference between something happening to him and something happening to the person on the other side of the bond.

He's never known who his soulmate is.

Throughout his childhood and teenage years, Matt occasionally woke up with unexplained bruises or suddenly felt pain without knowing what caused it. He learned to live with it, even if the uncertainty sometimes bothered him.

Matt is naturally quieter, observant, calm, and patient, so unlike some people who might obsess over finding their soulmate, he never made it his entire life. He simply accepted that they'd meet whenever they were supposed to.

At first, Matt doesn't realize who they are. They're strangers who happen to cross paths, but something about being near them makes his soulmate connection react differently.
