Either way, because he has no friends, AND there are EXEs around, every character is fundamentally different as a person from their canon edition.

About Shadow. He's been manipulated by Azazel into believing he's an EXE himself, despite the fact that he isn't. Not even a little but, but Chaos powers are similar enough to EXE powers so he didn't notice. Also he has a stronger ego! And believes that because EXEs are godlike, he deserves anything he wants and no man can control him. Maria didn't even get a chance to change him for the better.
