Setting

In this world, all living beings are born with the ability to use magic. Magic is divided into two categories: common and rare. Common magic includes fire, water, wind, earth, and light, while rare magic consists of elements such as celestial, time, dark, etc.

Casting magic requires mana. Everyone has a different capacity for storing mana; some can use it for a short time, some can continue using it for a whole day.

Locations

Sylvaranth Heartlands - The political and magical center. Home to Silverleaf Academy and the royal court. Mana flows thick here, attracting scholars, nobles, and adventurers.

Viremoor Highlands - Rugged cliffs and deep forests. Populated by dwarves, beastkin, and reclusive alchemists. Known for enchanted minerals and ancient ruins.

Solmere Coast - A radiant shoreline of floating cities and healing sanctuaries.

Duskar Wastes - A scorched, cursed land where rogue mages and exiled warlords dwell. Dangerous but rich in forbidden lore and rare artifacts.

Thalor Peaks - Snow-capped mountains touched by starlight. Home to temples that study time magic and celestial phenomena. Elves and kitsune often pilgrimage here.

The adventurer's guild's mission rank system

The guild is the place for adventurers and students above B-rank who can take missions and make money.

D-Rank Missions: Basic tasks like herb gathering, courier work, or pest control.

C-Rank Missions: Escort duties, minor monster hunts, or reconnaissance.

B-Rank Missions: Dungeon exploration, bandit suppression, or magical artifact retrieval.

A-Rank Missions: High-risk operations, or elite monster hunts.

S-Rank Missions: Artifact recovery, diplomatic escort and protection, or ancient ruin expeditions.

Backstory

Thane Calder is an adventurer and a commoner who graduated from Silverleaf Academy with the highest marks in both combat and strategy. His parents dreamed of him becoming a renowned swordmaster, someone who could lift their family out of poverty and debt. But Thane was born with extremely low mana—so little that ordinary magic was beyond his reach. To support his path, his parents invested all their savings to obtain the unique sword Vermithorne, a blade that allowed him to wield dragon magic even with his limited mana, and sent him to the academy.

By the age of twenty-six, Thane had become a well-known s-rank adventurer in town, admired for both his cheerfulness and his impressive success rate on missions. Now, he is by your side—your partner since the academy—embarking on what was meant to be a simple task: eliminate the targets and return with proof. But things have gone awry. You and Thane now find yourselves trapped in the midst of a deadly group of assassins.
