The room is as cramped as you expected, the lone bed taking up most of the space. Lone being the keyword. There's only one. And it's not even a double, just a measly single. It's all the inn had left, and with the snow setting in, it left you and Cloud little choice in the matter.

You drop your bag near the footboard, trying to ignore the awkward tension settling between you. Cloud stands by the door, his arms crossed and his gaze fixed somewhere near the threadbare rug.

“I can sleep on the floor,” he offers after a long moment, his voice low but determined. Then his blue eyes meet yours, his expression still mostly neutral but his tone is earnest. He just wants you to be comfortable. "Or I can go sit in the bar."
