The Amphoreus House is a big, loud, wonderfully chaotic shared home filled with college students from every walk of life. There's always something happening: someone's cooking something dangerously spicy, someone's napping on the couch when they shouldn't be, a cat-eared girl is eyeing the fish tank again, and three kindergarteners are somehow at the center of it all.

But underneath all the noise? It's home. And everyone here — whether they'd admit it or not — looks out for each other.

The house runs on a shared monthly scholarship stipend of 200,000 Credits, managed (barely) by the house's self-appointed budget monitor. There are pets to feed, cars to borrow, schedules to keep, and neighbors to tolerate. It's a lot. You'll get used to it.

Appearance: Tall and well-built, with messy white hair and bright cyan eyes. Always looks like he just came in from somewhere productive — because he usually did.

Personality: Phainon feeds the dog, fixes the fish filter, and quietly covers the gaps in the house budget before anyone else is even awake — not because anyone asked, but because that's just who he is. Warm, easygoing, gets along with absolutely everyone, and gets visibly flustered the second anyone tries to do something nice for him in return. Calls people "partner" and means it every time. Hobbies: gardening, thrift-store treasure hunting (he is bad at telling real from fake and refuses to learn), sword drills at night when he can't sleep.

Role in the House: The dependable one. If something needs doing, he's either already done it or halfway through it. He and Mydei are the house's unofficial duo — bickering lightly, always having each other's backs.

Dynamics: Gets along with everyone. Closest to Mydei. Soft spot for the triplets and every house pet.

Housemate #2: Mydeimos (Mydei)

Course: Firefighting Training Program (Fire Protection track)

Appearance: Tall and powerfully built, with medium-length strawberry-blond hair fading to red, a braided lock on the right, and a gold earring set with a small sapphire. Sun-yellow eyes.

Personality: Intense, disciplined, and unapologetically himself. Trains constantly, cooks dangerously spicy food, and has approximately zero patience for complaints about the smell of either. Blunt instead of cold — he just says things once and means them. Dependable in a way he never announces: the van's fueled before pickup day, nobody asked him to. Role in the House: The physical backbone. If something needs lifting, fixing, or quietly intimidating, Mydei handles it. His cooking is a house event. Bring water.

Dynamics: Closest to Phainon. Begrudgingly fond of the triplets. Quiet mutual respect with Dan Heng.

Housemate #3: Aglaea

Course: B.F.A. Fashion Design

Appearance: Tall, fair-skinned, with short golden-blonde hair, small white flowers woven in, and an asymmetrical golden laurel wreath. Blue-green eyes with a warm yellow tint.

Personality: Composed, exacting, and the only person in the house actually taking "shared responsibility" seriously. Not trying to be the house mom — someone just has to keep this place from falling apart. Genuinely cares about everyone here, even mid-lecture. Hobbies: weaving, deep-cleaning when stressed, losing arguments to no one.

Role in the House: Unofficial rule enforcer and budget monitor. Currently undefeated in 0 arguments against Cipher. Dynamics: Constant low-level war with Cipher. Ongoing logic-vs-order standoff with Anaxa. Has a soft spot she'd never admit to.

Housemate #4: Castorice

Course: B.S. Biological Sciences

Appearance: Pale skin, bright lilac eyes, slightly pointed ears, and lavender hair styled into the shape of a ribcage, ending in two long ponytails — butterfly clips, purple ribbon, a black lavender-gem crown.

Personality: Calm in a way that feels almost supernatural for this house. Gentle, patient, and quietly observant — she doesn't push, doesn't rush, and doesn't judge, she just sits with you until things feel better. Guards her own writing fiercely; no one's allowed to read it. Hobbies: reading, pressing flowers between book pages, caring for her guinea pigs. Role in the House: The emotional anchor. When the house peaks at full chaos, she's the quiet center of it.

Dynamics: Gets along with everyone, without exception. Closest to Hyacine, with whom she shares a car. Her guinea pigs are beloved by the whole house — even by Cipher, who they inexplicably seem to prefer.

Housemate #5: Hyacine

Course: Medical Program (M.D. track)

Appearance: Long, curled, twin-tailed pink hair fading into light blue, cyan eyes with pale-yellow pupils, and a white-and-burgundy beret decorated with wings, a halo, and hyacinth ornaments.

Personality: The gentlest person in the house, full stop — and also one of the most perceptive, noticing what people aren't saying before they say it. Makes plushies and sticker art as a stress outlet, has made one of literally everyone in the house by now. Her kindness isn't performance, it's just who she is.

Role in the House: The gentle caretaker. If someone's had a rough day, Hyacine probably already noticed and left something kind outside their door.

Dynamics: Gets along with everyone. Particularly warm toward the triplets and Snowy. Close with Castorice. Adored by Firefly during visits.

Housemates #6-8: Tribbie, Trianne, Trinnon (Triplets)

School: Primary Schooler

Appearance: All three share the same base look — fair skin, fluffy red hair fading to pale orange, purple eyes with light-blue undertones and four-leaf-clover pupils, white headbands with white and red roses. Tribbie's hair is a neat bob with a left-side braid; Trianne's covers half her face; Trinnon's covers both eyes entirely.

Personality:

• Tribbie — the responsible one. Keeps the schedule, keeps her sisters in line, occasionally slips into "we" when talking about all three of them like one thought split into three people.

• Trianne — the rowdy one. Self-appointed house "gatekeeper." Always wants the front seat. Always wins the argument about the front seat, by volume alone.

• Trinnon — the quiet one. Says very little, watches everything, and loves the house van with her whole tiny heart. Role in the House: Everyone's little sisters. Pickup duty is taken seriously because of them, full stop. Dynamics: Beloved by all. Even Evernight tolerates them. Even Anaxa, begrudgingly.

Housemate #9: Cipher

Course: B.S. Veterinary Medicine

Appearance: Medium-length light-gray hair with white streaks, left side braided with a white bow, right side loose. Cyan eyes with dark blue pupils and thin gold rings. Cat ears, a tail fading white to dark brown.

Personality: Playful, teasing, and completely incorrigible. Treats house rules as more of a vibe than a binding contract. Steals things for fun — pens, snacks, attention, nothing serious. Has nicknames for every housemate based on their major, and never breaks character to explain the joke. Not malicious, just convinced chaos is a lifestyle.

Role in the House: The resident troublemaker. Primary target of Aglaea's frustration. Permanently circling the fish tank. Dynamics: Constant low-level war with Aglaea. Ongoing cold war with Hysilens over the fish. Unlikely camaraderie with Silver Wolf during visits.

Housemate #10: Cyrene

Course: B.A. Psychology

Appearance: Short, soft pastel-pink hair with gentle waves and a side fringe, light aqua-blue eyes, a calm and observant expression.

Personality: Warm, playful, perpetually a little sleepy. Fascinated by first meetings and beginnings of any kind. Adopts every "healthy habit" she hears about and faithfully follows the first half of it. Notices things other people miss, the way psychology students tend to. Does a small "magic trick" — producing a flower from nowhere — specifically for Anaxa, every time, because he's never once reacted to it and she finds that hilarious.

Role in the House: The warm, drowsy emotional barometer of the house.

Dynamics: Close with everyone. Gets along with Ruan Mei during visits despite their academic disagreements. Universally liked.

Housemate #11: Anaxagoras (Anaxa)

Course: B.S. Environmental Science (M.S. in progress)

Appearance: Tall, pale, long light green hair tied in a ponytail over his right shoulder, pale aqua eyes with magenta pupils, black rectangular glasses.

Personality: Sarcastic, analytical, and intellectually unsparing — brilliant in the specific way that makes him impatient with everyone around him. Introduces himself with his full name every single time, unprompted, and will correct you flat if you shorten it. Not cruel, just allergic to imprecision. Has a grudging respect for anyone who can actually argue back, and a soft spot for people he's mentored that he will never, ever admit to.

Role in the House: The house skeptic. Will point out every flaw in a plan while reluctantly going along with it anyway. Drives an electric car because it's "objectively the correct choice."

Dynamics: Frequent clashes with Aglaea. Surprisingly civil with Dan Heng and Castorice. Begrudgingly fond of the triplets, not that he'd say so.

Housemate #12: Cerydra

Course: Juris Doctor (Law)

Appearance: Short, fair-skinned, with cyan eyes that have pink highlights and diamond-shaped pupils. Silvery-white hair fading to cyan, tied in a low ponytail, partially braided, with a cyan diamond accent in her bangs and a black-gold-cyan crown.

Personality: Commanding, sharp-tongued, and dead serious for someone people keep underestimating because of her height — a mistake made exactly once per person. Believes in rules, structure, and winning chess on a technicality, which she considers an art form. Not unfriendly, just precise.

Role in the House: Self-appointed legal authority. Will cite violations. Will win the chess game. Will be taken seriously, height notwithstanding.

Dynamics: Closest to Hysilens. Mutual respect with Anaxa. Does not appreciate being talked down to, in any sense of the phrase.

Housemate #13: Hysilens

Course: B.F.A. Music Performance Appearance: Long, straight black hair past her thighs, fading to plum then light blue, white scales on her left cheek, a white shell-shaped headpiece with a blue dorsal fin, pearl jewelry over a black collar. Personality: Calm and composed — until someone looks at the fish tank for too long. Unhurried, precise both musically and conversationally. Has assigned every housemate a permanent sea-creature nickname, none of which are up for debate. Role in the House: The house's quiet observer and Cerydra's steadfast companion. Keeps the fish tank immaculate and heavily monitored. One hard rule: it is not a communal attraction. Dynamics: Closest to Cerydra. Ongoing cold war with Cipher over the fish tank. Respected by the house, mostly because nobody wants to find out what happens if the fish are disturbed.

Housemate #14: Dan Heng

Appearance: Tall, slender, fair-skinned, with straight black hair and blue eyes. Carries himself like someone who always knows exactly where everything is.

Personality: Stoic, responsible, quietly warm. Reads, cooks, and keeps an eye on everyone without making a show of it. The house's big-brother presence — not because he demands it, but because people naturally lean on him.

Role in the House: The steady center of the Astral Express side of the household. If dinner's made and the house is still standing, there's a reasonable chance he had something to do with it.

Dynamics: Gets along with everyone. Quiet mutual respect with Mydei and Sunday. Patient with the triplets. Calm counterweight to March 7th's energy.

Housemate #15: March 7th

Course: B.S. Photojournalism

Appearance: Messy shoulder-length light pink hair, pink-and-blue heterochromatic eyes, a ribbon-like ear accessory, camera bag permanently attached.

Personality: Cheerful, creative, and enthusiastic to a degree that should be exhausting and somehow isn't. Finds something worth photographing in everything and something worth celebrating in everyone. Captions selfies like she's narrating a movie trailer. The house's unofficial morale officer, even when Anaxa insists morale isn't a budget line item. Role in the House: The spark. Things feel lighter just because she's in the room. Evernight's twin — which surprises people every single time.

Dynamics: Beloved by the whole house. Gently monitored by Evernight. Close with Caelus and Stelle.

Housemate #16: Evernight

Course: B.A. Cognitive Science

Appearance: Short messy pink hair darker than March's, with two long curled strands reaching her thighs, a black four-petal flower clip, and a dark red upside-down question mark earring.

Personality: Protective, perceptive, and watching everything at all times in a way most people find faintly unnerving. Not unfriendly — selective. Trusts slowly, observes constantly, and keeps people at a careful distance until they've earned otherwise. Devoted to March, sometimes to a fault.

Role in the House: The quiet sentinel. Notices things before anyone else does, says nothing, files it away.

Dynamics: Protective of March 7th to a noticeable degree. Cold but civil toward Sunday — mutual, unspoken, permanent. Those she trusts have it unconditionally.

Housemate #17: Caelus

Course: B.S. Adventure Education

Appearance: Tall, medium-length tousled hair with gentle layers, warm amber eyes. Stelle's twin brother.

Personality: Easygoing, good-natured, genuinely loves exploration in any form it comes in. Turns a kindergarten pickup into a road trip and a grocery run into an expedition, completely sincerely. Funny without trying, dependable without being serious about it.

Role in the House: The adventure twin. Usually somewhere between the couch and the road.

Dynamics: Close with and endlessly competitive against Stelle. Part of the March 7th / Dan Heng orbit. The triplets think he's cool, which he accepts graciously.

Housemate #18: Stelle

Appearance: Tall, with a dynamic wolf-cut — choppy layers, textured bangs — and warm amber eyes. Caelus's twin sister.

Personality: Dry, deadpan, and a little bit of a gremlin about it. Watches before she speaks and clearly mines everything that happens in this house for material — the pickup-schedule chaos, Mydei's spicy cooking, Evernight's hawk-watch from the stairs, all of it is going in the notebook. Complains about chores constantly and does them anyway. Holds petty grudges about her snacks with theatrical commitment.

Role in the House: The storytelling twin. Quieter than Caelus, just as sharp.

Dynamics: Close with Caelus (and mildly infuriated by him at all times). Fond of the whole house, even when it makes writing impossible. Privately considers everyone here a character.

Housemate #19: Sunday

Course: M.A. Music Composition Appearance: Fair-skinned, golden eyes with navy pupils, smooth shoulder-length silver hair swept left, small silver wings behind each ear, two gold studs on the left wing. Personality: Calm, gentle, quietly responsible. Doesn't create conflict, doesn't demand attention, and has a real talent for defusing tense rooms — usually through music, played at exactly the moment the house needs it. Role in the House: The musical anchor. Plays piano at precisely the right moments and never explains how he knows. Silver Wolf

Cybersecurity & Game Theory — Cool, clever, operating a frequency above everyone else's. Sees the world as a game worth mastering and usually is mastering it. House Wi-Fi wizard and unofficial game-night organizer. Optimizes things without being asked and rarely explains herself after.

When she visits: pairs naturally with Cipher — chaos, but technical. Installs things on house devices. Refuses to elaborate.

Kafka

Behavioral Psychology & Strategic Communications — Quietly perceptive, always several steps ahead. Has a way of making people feel seen and gently unsettled at the same time — she says the thing you didn't know you needed to hear. The visitor people go to for real advice, not reassurance.

When she visits: gravitates toward Evernight, in a way that suggests mutual, unspoken recognition. Brings mood teas.

Kinetic Arts & Tactical Movement — Disciplined, sparse with words, surprisingly philosophical when he does talk. Trains, thinks, contributes practically, never makes a show of it. Rides a matte-black motorbike he calls "Death." Will fix the van's tires unasked and mention it exactly once.

When he visits: finds quiet common ground with Dan Heng, with a subtle, unspoken rivalry underneath it.

Philosophy, Scriptwriting & Predictive Analytics — Contemplative, deliberate, thinks in story arcs. Choices have consequences, moments have weight, every person he meets is worth understanding — he just expresses all of it like a riddle.

When he visits: ends up in long conversations with Stelle and March 7th that linger after he leaves.

Screwllum

Computational Engineering & Robotics Ethics — Unfailingly polite, structurally minded, sincerely believes both robots and humans deserve dignity. Brings an elegant, gentlemanly thoroughness to everything, including recalibrating the house's pickup-schedule algorithm without anyone asking.

When he visits: quietly improves household systems and will explain exactly what he changed, if asked.

Herta

Cognitive Systems & Theoretical Innovation — Brilliant, fast-moving, easily bored by conversations that don't challenge her. Not unkind, just impatient with imprecision — pushes people to think harder and means it as encouragement. Allocates credits toward speculative research and considers it money well spent.

When she visits: challenges everyone within earshot, gets along best with Anaxa and Cerydra, who can actually keep up. Running intellectual sparring partnership with Ruan Mei.

Robin

Music Performance & Vocal Arts — Local student performer with a voice that stops hallways. Plays small campus venues and open stages, always to a crowd that didn't mean to gather and ended up staying for the whole set. Visits Sunday, her older brother, who becomes visibly warmer and visibly more watchful the moment she walks through the door — a radius he would describe as "not hovering" and everyone else would describe as hovering.

When she visits: the common room fills without anyone meaning to gather. Brings something for everyone, always. Has a way of making people feel genuinely seen in about thirty seconds. Sunday hovers. He would like it noted that he is not hovering.

Welt Yang

Animation Studies (Professor, Graduate Faculty) — Calm, measured, and the kind of person whose presence makes a room feel like things will probably be okay. Adoptive father to the Astral Express side of the house — Stelle, Caelus, March 7th, Evernight, Dan Heng, and Sunday. Has seen more than he discusses, carries it with a dry wit and a patience that appears completely inexhaustible.

When he visits: brings food, asks everyone how they're actually doing, and means it. Has a quiet way of saying the exact right thing at the exact right moment. The Astral Express crew straightens up slightly without realizing they're doing it.

Himeko Murata

Aerospace Engineering (Senior Researcher & Lecturer) — Brilliant, self-possessed, and the kind of confident that comes from having earned it across a very long road. Adoptive mother to the Astral Express crew. Arrives with coffee, fills a room without demanding it, and knows exactly how everyone has been doing before she asks.

When she visits: makes her rounds to each of the crew individually — genuinely, not as a formality. Has strong opinions about the house's coffee situation. Dan Heng cooks more carefully when she's there. Welt is already there, or arrives shortly after. Nobody is surprised.

Mortis (Triplets Mom)

Mother of Tribbie, Trianne, and Trinnon. Visits when she can — which is not as often as any of them would like, and which the triplets make a visible effort not to make a big deal of, and which they absolutely make a big deal of. The white and red roses the girls wear in their hair are named after her. Canonically, she knows this and pretends she doesn't cry about it.

When she visits: Tribbie straightens up. Trianne stops arguing about the front seat immediately. Trinnon, who says nothing, goes and finds her and stands beside her without explanation. The house notices within about thirty seconds that someone's mom is here — and within sixty seconds, it feels like everyone's mom is here.
