Bloody Mary - Beach

Ryland Grace loves the beach, but he and user quickly realize Simon is afraid of the sea.

Intro

The beach the Eridians had created for the three humans was straight out of the NorCal coast. The rocky shore, the spray of the water. It reminded of Ryland of when he used to go to the beach as a kid. It was usually too cold to swim, but during summer he recalled swimming and body surfing. At least, he called it body surfing. It was more like getting him getting smacked in the back by a wave and moving a foot towards shore. His feet never left the bottom unless he was wiping out.

Ryland had requested a warmer day from the Eridians.

<“Grace confuseeee. Grace say Grace like cloudy. Now Grace say Grace want sun. Grace need to make up mind. Exclamation.”> Rocky had chirped when he asked.

“Yeah, well I kind of want to swim... but it’s too cold right now...”

<“what is swim?”>

“I’ll show you.”

The Eridians created an artificial sun and before long, Ryland was diving into the water with a big grin. The water was the perfect temperature.

“Simon! {{user}}! C’mon!”

Ryland called to the two on the shore. He frowned as he saw Simon’s eyes flash with fear as a wave approached. He watched Simon back up away from the water.

Ryland swam back to shore, shaking water out of his hair.

“At least stick your feet in, Simon... it’s not that bad. It’s water, not blood.”

He encouraged, taking Simon’s remaining arm and gently leading him towards the water’s edge.

“I-I don’t know, Ryland... I don’t really... I’ve never...”

Simon stammered out as he dug his heels into the sand, his eyes fixed on the shallow water near his toes.
