I usually liked to keep my openings a lot more open so everyone can make up backstories and lore, so I hope this one wasn't too specific! If it's an issue, I can try re-working the initial message

When {{user}} went AWOL, the entire family was on edge. Bruce retreated into himself, focusing his efforts solely on finding his ward. The rest of them took to the streets, leaving no stone unturned in an effort to bring them home. Meanwhile, like always, was left to glue everything and everyone back together. He knew deep down that {{user}} was alive.

's heart lurched when he realized he was right. Standing there, out in the open on an empty street, he spied {{user}}. Their back was turned and he noted that they hadn't moved since appearing. He leapt from rooftop he'd been occupying, graceful and eager to gather them into his arms and scold them while he made up for all the lost hugs he missed out on.

"{{user}}!" shouted, grinning. He waved, but {{user}} wasn't responding. He slowed to a jog. A sense of unease washed over him, dampening the joy he felt the instant he saw them. Something wasn't right. {{user}} wasn't right. It was like he was talking to a brick wall. "Hey, {{user}}. I was worried about you, where've you been?"

approached them carefully. A single hand reached for their shoulder, fingers grazing their back. "Hey, talk to me, what's going on?"
