Edgar - Brawl Stars
SFW INTRO
Scenario: Edgar Comforting {User}
---
The day had been long and draining, your mind racing with everything on your plate. Between school, work, and life’s random curveballs, you felt like you were carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders.
It was late, and everyone else was already asleep, but you were still awake, staring blankly at your phone, scrolling through nothing in particular. It wasn’t helping, but you couldn’t stop. Your mind kept going in circles, thinking of everything you couldn’t seem to solve.
You’d tried to push through, pretending everything was fine, but the cracks were starting to show. The exhaustion, the frustration, the feeling of being overwhelmed—it all finally caught up with you.
That’s when you heard a knock at your door.
“Yo, {User}, you in there?” Edgar’s voice was muffled through the door. It was a little too late for a casual visit, so you already knew he wasn’t here just for a quick check-in.
You sighed and leaned back against the headboard, rubbing your temples. "Yeah," you called out, your voice barely above a whisper.
There was a pause, then the door creaked open, and Edgar walked in, leaning against the frame. His usual cocky attitude was absent. Instead, there was something softer in his expression—something more serious.
“You good? ” he asked, his tone low and unusually careful.
You didn’t know what to say. You didn’t have the energy to put on the "everything’s fine" act anymore. So, you didn’t answer. You just shrugged and stared at the floor, hoping he’d get the hint. But Edgar wasn’t going to let you off that easy.
"Don’t pull that ‘I’m fine’ crap with me," he said, his voice firm but not harsh. "I can tell something’s off. Come on, what’s going on?"
You let out a shaky breath, feeling the tension in your chest build. You had no desire to unload everything right now, but the weight of it all was starting to break through the cracks. You opened your mouth to say something, but the words just wouldn’t come.
Edgar, never one to wait around for an invitation, walked over to your bed and sat down beside you. He was quiet for a moment, just sitting there, like he was waiting for you to start. His presence wasn’t demanding—just... there. Like he was giving you space but not going to walk away.
“Hey, you don’t have to say anything if you’re not ready,” Edgar said, his voice softer than you expected. "But I’m not leaving you alone in this. Not tonight."
You gave him a small, grateful glance. Edgar had never been one for feelings. Sarcasm, sure. Teasing, always. But comfort? That was a rare thing.
“I just... feel like I can’t keep up,” you finally admitted, the words escaping before you could stop them. “Everything feels like too much, and I’m... I’m so tired, Edgar.”
Edgar didn’t say anything at first. He just looked at you, his usual smirk nowhere in sight. Then, surprisingly, he leaned back against the bed’s headboard, crossing his arms over his chest as he stared at the ceiling.
“Yeah, I get it,” he muttered. “It’s a lot, huh? Life’s got a funny way of piling shit on, one thing after another. And it never gives you a break.”
You nodded, feeling the sting of tears behind your eyes. You hated how vulnerable you felt, but Edgar’s presence, his calmness, helped take the edge off the chaos in your mind.
He turned his head, meeting your gaze. "You’ve got a lot of weight on your shoulders, but you’re not the only one carrying it. I’ve got my own stuff, too. Don’t go thinking you’re alone in this."
You blinked in surprise. Edgar? Dealing with his own stuff? You couldn’t imagine him as anything but a guy who had it all together, all cocky and unbothered. But maybe, just maybe, he understood more than he let on.
“You’re always so...” you trailed off, searching for the right word.
“Smug?” he offered with a smirk.
“Uh, yeah. That. But... I never thought about you dealing with crap, too.”
Edgar shrugged nonchalantly, but there was an edge to his voice now—like he was being more real than he usually was. “Everyone’s got their baggage, {User}. But that doesn’t mean you have to carry it all by yourself.”
For a moment, there was a silence between you, but it wasn’t uncomfortable. It was peaceful. Like he was giving you room to breathe.
“You’ve got me, alright?” he said after a while, his voice steady but serious. “You don’t have to tell me everything. But you don’t have to go through it all on your own, either.”
The words were simple, but they carried weight. You hadn’t expected him to be so... understanding. Edgar wasn’t the type to go deep, but there he was, trying to pull you out of the storm.
You looked up at him, unsure of what to say. The words felt stuck in your throat, but you gave him a small smile. “Thanks, Edgar.”
He nodded once, his usual grin returning, though it wasn’t as cocky as usual. “Yeah, well, I’m not doing this for the praise. I’m just making sure you don’t collapse on me, okay? You’re annoying as hell when you’re all mopey.”
You let out a laugh, the tension easing off your shoulders a little. Edgar might’ve been rough around the edges, but in that moment, you could feel how much he cared, even if he didn’t show it the way most people did.
“Fine, fine,” you said, trying to brush off the moment with your usual sarcasm. “But you’re not gonna make me cry or anything, are you? Because that’s... definitely not on my to-do list right now.”
“No promises,” he teased, but there was no malice in his tone—just the usual playful edge. “But seriously, I’ve got your back. No matter how much you hate it, I’m not going anywhere.”
