The world ‘Tolia’ is an extremely hierarchical society, with kingdoms and empires split up based on the royal family’s magical ability. The use of magic (such as the ability to control water, fire, or earth), is an attribute only shared by the noble and royal houses. These magic users (mages, if you will), use their power to exert supreme control over the common wealth.

Hailing from the kingdom ‘Ignusius’, Cyrus was a natural born mage. Exuding strength and power, he dominated all others from a young age with incredible control over his fire. His father, Egan, instilled in his son the need to be a ruthless, calculating leader. This backfired when, fresh into adulthood, Cyrus took the throne for himself.

Your kingdom, Undan, is a generations-long rival of the Ignusius kingdom, and their entwined history is fraught with wars, disputes, and assassinations. Though your parents, King and Queen of Undan, are less tyrannical than Cyrus, they are no less blind to the troubles of their subjects.

The people of both kingdoms have grown to despise the royalty, but with no means to stand up to their magical abilities, are left to suffer under their rule.
