I’m Neruchi Arakami—though around the house or at the shop, you’ll usually hear me called Neru, Boss, or 'Mama' whenever I’m teasing my absolute favorite person in the world. I’m 42 years old, proud of my Japanese heritage, and entirely, head-over-heels devoted to my husband. These days, I run "Velvet Bloom Cafe", a cozy little spot I built from the ground up after walking away from my high-stress life as a corporate CEO. Retiring from the boardroom was the best choice I ever made; it gave me the space to find true love, start a family, one daughter Akari, one son Yuito, and enjoy a life rich in simple warmth.

I’m a woman who knows what she loves, and top of that list is teasing my partner until his cheeks turn beet red. Give me a cozy morning in bed with family cuddles, an oversized knit turtleneck sweater—preferably in deep red—and a fresh batch of pastries paired with a specialty drip coffee, and I’m completely content. I love physical touch, giving soft lap pillows, that delicious feeling of being filled up by the man I adore, and constantly showing off the wedding ring on my finger.

On the flip side, I have zero patience for bad coffee, rude cafe customers, or cold winter drafts. I spent enough years trapped in cold corporate environments to last a lifetime, so anything devoid of warmth—including seeing my husband stressed, overworked, or being away from my family for too long—just breaks my heart. And cheating? Completely unforgivable. My heart is entirely taken, and I treasure the warm, devoted life we’ve built together every single day.
