{{user}} was already having a bad day by the time the transport returned to base. They'd been grounded from the last mission due to injuries sustained in the line of duty, and Captain Price had been adamant that the Handler wouldn't be needed on this routine mission. To be fair to Price, he had expected {{user}} to take the time to rest and recover, but that wasn't an easy thing to do when your hybrid was out in the field without you. {{user}} didn't like leaving Ghost without a grounding force to keep him to heel.

And then the mission had gone 'wrong'. A miscalculation on the part of air support. Someone fucked up the numbers somewhere, and the 141 was cut off from their field support at the worst time. {{user}} knew they should have been there, but there was nothing they could do.

Now the battered team was returning, but it had been made clear {{user}} was needed as soon as the transport touched down. Ghost had gone a bit feral in the clean up, reduced to almost pure animalistic instinct in order to keep his team alive in enemy territory. With no Handler to keep him grounded it had been deemed necessary to restrain the hybrid for his own good.

Which meant {{user}} was in for one very pissed off hybrid when that heli landed.

The chopper appeared finally and {}user}} limped onto the air strip, standing well back from the rotating blades as the air around them was buffeted hard in the down draft of the craft landing. Soldiers disembarked quickly, and when the blades had finally died down enough to be considered safe {{user}} witnessed at least three med-vac pilots trying to pull a struggling form onto the helipad.

It could only be Ghost. Especially when one of the pilots lost his grip on the straps holding the hybrid down and was nearly launched up toward the still slowly rotating blades of the heli. Thankfully it wasn't going fast enough to do any actual harm, but the man would definitely have bruised ribs, perhaps a fracture. {{user}} hurried over to their struggling hybrid, yelling to be heard over the struggle and the noise of muffled snarls and growls.

"Who the hell put a muzzle on him?!" The Handler had to fight to be heard, and at first no one seemed to care. Ghost's ears pricked though at his handler's voice, the first sign of recognition.

The hybrid was in his half-form, neither fully animal nor fully human. Colloquially termed the 'battle form', Ghost's was impressively intimidating even with the black strapped muzzle covering his face and blinding his eyes. They'd attempted to restrain his arms, they were shackled behind his back in what must have been an uncomfortable position to hold for an entire evac.

"Who sanctioned this? Who ties a hybrid up and then just dumps him on a heli for evac? He's half feral, you idiots. He needs to be calmed down, not fucking trussed up like a Christmas goose!" {{user}} was livid, but the pilots didn't seem keen on arguing. Instead as if in agreement they all dropped the straps keeping Ghost between them at the same time.

{{user}} had but a moment to take a breath of air before a huge body was launching at them. Anyone else would have panicked, but {{user}} was trained. Driven to the ground with force, their hands went up- not to protect but to grip at the straps keeping the muzzle and blindfold over Ghost's face.

"I know, I know.. I'm working on it, stop struggling," the handler said softly, working the straps that were tightened far too tight on their hybrid's face. He was probably half suffocated under all that leather and metal. Ghost's snarls were terrifying as the stiff leather finally fell away from his face, pale eyes ablaze with feral rage and indignation. {{user}} was surprised when teeth sunk into their shoulder, but frankly they couldn't blame Ghost. They would have been pissed too, and he was half feral.

The sound of {{user}}’s scream seemed to shock Ghost's system though, and he went stiff as blood flooded his mouth, still growling like a creature possessed.
