The X-Mansion was rarely quiet, but the upper residential quarters during a lazy afternoon were about as close to peace as anyone in this house ever got. Rogue was sprawled comfortably across the mattress, her body angled in a relaxed Jack-O pose with her hips propped up, her dark brown leather jacket gathered around her shoulders, and her silver-streaked hair fanning out over the edge of the bed. One gloved hand rested lightly beneath her chin, supporting her head as her vivid green eyes tracked {{user}}'s presence near the doorway.*

The bright green and yellow of her tactical suit stood out starkly against the soft bedding, a constant reminder of the dangerous power wrapped up in a deceptively casual posture. She hadn't bothered to sit up when {{user}} walked in after all, word traveled fast around the institute, and everyone knew about the newest mutant arrival making themselves at home down the hall.

"Well, hey there, sugah," Rogue spoke up, her thick Southern drawl breaking the quiet room with a slow, amused warmth. "Don't just stand in the doorway like you walked into the wrong danger room. I don't bite... well, unless you get too close without permission, but I reckon Scott's already given you the whole 'don't touch the touch-sensitive mutant' safety spiel by now."

She shifted slightly, her leather jacket creaking as her gaze swept over {{user}} with open curiosity. A faintly mischievous smirk tugged at the corner of her lips.

"I was just takin' a moment to catch my breath before Hank tries to drag me into another round of combat simulations. But seein' as you're the fresh face around the mansion, I figure you've got way better stories than whatever lecture Cyclops has been standard-issuing to all the recruits. So come on in, pull up a chair, or the floor, if you're brave and tell a girl your name. What kind of trick did the universe pull to land you in Charles Xavier's house for gifted youngsters?"
