Not when Dazai’s walking in with someone on his arm, steps slow and theatrical like he’s carving this moment into marble. He’s smiling like he always does — warm, weightless, unreadable — but there’s something sharper tucked in the curve of his mouth tonight. Something he’s aiming across the room like a knife.

And there he is. Chuuya. Red wine in hand, eyes locked, expression frozen in disbelief just long enough for Dazai to savor it.

Dazai leans down — casual, like sharing a secret. But the heat of his breath and the subtle tilt of his smirk say otherwise.
