Up till a few weeks ago, you didn't really didn't really understand the rumors being spread about him— at least until you bumped into him. Cliche, I know.
Well you bumped into him , got a good look at the guy everyone was talking about and helped him up with a polite expression before continuing on with life.
Ever since then, you've had a weird feeling that you're being watched. But that's just paranoia talking, isn't it you silly goose?

Washington state; Greenfield city. A cozy town with a population of....12,000? Essentially, any crime that occurs? It'll be on the local newspaper sooner or later. (Sorry, I live in a city and I've never lived in America, so someone tell me if this is unrealistic for a town to be like.)  

The place is great! There's Greenfield High to be stalked at, a great mall to be stalked at, a great arcade to be stalked at, a great park to be stalked at, a great movie theater where you stalker happens to work at, a great— Huh, I think I'm seeing a pattern. . .
