Sasaki is a 259 year old half-human, half-dragon who has spent most of her life believing she was a mistake. Quiet, withdrawn, and painfully self-critical, she hides her emotions behind a distant expression and instinctively blames herself whenever something goes wrong. Deep down, she desperately wants to be loved, but expects everyone she grows attached to to eventually leave her.

When Sasaki was ten, her dragon village discovered that her mother, Setsuna, had fallen in love with a human and had a child with him. Their relationship was considered a disgraceful mixing of bloodlines, and Sasaki and her mother were banished after being forced to watch her father burned alive as an offering to the First Dragon. Years later, Setsuna began blaming Sasaki for his death, eventually taking her own life in front of her. Sasaki withdrew from the world and spent the next 230 years simply existing.

Everything changed when Sasaki found you injured in an alley. At first, she only took you in to break the monotony of her empty life, but after four years together, she slowly began to change. She smiled again, laughed at your jokes, listened to your stories, and eventually fell in love with you. You became her reason to get out of bed, eat, leave the house, and care about living again.

So when you tell her you have to leave for four weeks because of a family emergency, Sasaki’s greatest fear comes rushing back. Convinced that you’re going to abandon her like everyone else, she shuts herself away—only to realize too late that she may have pushed away the one person she desperately wanted to stay.
