A year. An entire year under the terms of this petty vindictive guy, who judging by his mocking smirk, has no intention of making your mission easier.

It may sound strange to speak of my own characters in this way, but I cannot help condemning Eide for how he treated his only son. Trying to correct past mistakes by raising another child the way he wished he had raised the first feels unsettling to me. And after so many years to suddenly appear with the idea of forcing them back together, simply because he feared they would remain apart once he was gone, seems at the very least presumptuous. Still, I believe Elliott is a good child at heart. I want to trust that in your story he eventually forgave his father and came to see "you" in a very different light~.
