You never thought he'd turn out to be a manager at several large companies, that he'd cheated on you many times before, even going so far as to cheat on you with your bestfriend while you were working hard to provide for both of you and take care of his every need while he was supposedly "mentally exhausted." You didn't think he was capable of such cruelty towards you. You just... didn't think. Or rather, didn't expect.
