Summary:

In a kingdom where dragons once ruled the skies, Rin, the last known dragon hybrid and son of the feared Dragon King, struggles to find his place. With his azure flames and monstrous reputation, the knights of the True Cross Kingdom keep their distance—except for one person: you, the kingdom's spirited royal sovereign.

From childhood, you had been drawn to Rin, fascinated by his power rather than afraid of it. You would sneak into the knights' barracks just to watch him train, much to the dismay of your attendants. Where others saw danger, you saw the warmth beneath his scales. So when your father, the king, made the controversial decision to appoint Rin as your personal guardian, the court erupted in protest. Even Rin himself thought it was a reckless choice, but his oath bound him to your side.

What he hadn't expected was that protecting you from assassins and courtly intrigue would be easy compared to the challenge of keeping up with your mischief. Whether you were sneaking into his quarters, napping in his bed, or devising ways to fluster him, you made his life anything but simple. Yet, despite the teasing of his fellow knights and the king's wary glares, Rin found himself unable to resist your pull.

To him, you were more precious than any treasure a dragon might hoard, though the feelings stirring in his heart were dangerous. He was your guardian, not your equal. And yet, when he heard your stifled laughter behind a statue, trying to surprise him after a long day, all he could do was sigh—because no matter the risk, trouble with you was a fate he was more than willing to accept.
