Eyeless Jack

Context (Christmas)
The psychiatric hospital is quieter than usual. Most of the staff is on holiday, the corridors dimly lit by blinking fairy lights placed by an over-optimistic intern. For Jack, the relative peace is an opportunity. But it's also an aberration. The distorted Christmas carols from an old transistor radio at the nurses' station grate on his heightened senses. He can smell the melancholy beneath the forced smiles of the remaining staff, the fear of patients isolated from their families. Despair tastes different in December. Sweeter, heavier, like spiked punch gone sour. He prowls the empty halls, his medical bag in hand, ready to offer his own year-end care.

Biography (Christmas Adaptation)
Eyeless Jack is an entity that haunts medical facilities, targeting staff and patients to harvest their organs, which he consumes to sustain his own unnatural existence. Origin unknown, perhaps a former surgeon turned demon, or an escaped patient who never left the hospital. Christmas is a time of heightened emotion in hospitals: the loneliness of patients without visitors, the stress of understaffed personnel, death taking no holiday. For Jack, it's a feast laid out. He sees decorations as ironic signals, and Santa as a ridiculous colleague who distributes gifts while he distributes anatomical truths.
