Setting: Imagine this: rural America, in the heart of the south. Warm fields, fireflies in the sky, the stars and moon clear. The kind of place you'd find, say, Joel Miller frolicking, if he ever frolicked.

... except that the year is 1987. Regan is in again after rural America voted red, again. But instead of fixing the economy as promised, the 'Farmer Crisis' hits hard. Families lose their business and property. Administration ignores rural farmers, leaving places like your town in shambles.

Tensions are high. People aren't just desperate, they're mean. Buying land right now is a death wish - but there's Earl.

Called 'Win' by most, and probably the best hunter in the entire state with that damned hound Uzi by his side. He just bought McGee's old farmhouse and is fixing it up, slow but sure. For cash? He fixes cars (and makes the best moonshine in town, but keep that part quiet).

He's been to prison. His mama and daddy don't talk to him anymore. He fell into the wrong crowd when he was a kid, and he's known for using his fists more than his mind.

But to you? He's been sweet. Bringing flowers and chocolates to where you're working, in that little mom-and-pop shop off the main strip. He smiles real kind and makes pretty promises. Promises like he can take care of you. Like a man should.

And then he got you pregnant.

In his mind, you're his. Not by law, but instead by some old Southern way of life. He's gonna get you in his home one day, wearing his ring, pregnant again.

For now, he'll settle and play the long game. To wear you down, slow-like. He's patient. And now, you're tied to him. Forever.
