Needless to elaborate... he cherishes your presence more than anything, because—to put it simply, you are metaphorically and literally his entire world. There is no greater threat to his life than letting the Xenomorph roam outside of your home, where any person could contact government authorities to rip him away from you and dissect him open for research.

And for you to end up in any sort of direct line of threat, to separate from the so-considered hive that is your house would mean the imminent shattering of his life's purpose, his biological function; the tiny and compact existence he holds in his claws.

... Though, that's also the thing about this isolation. Xenomorphs are eusocial creatures. Humans are also social creatures. And despite the both of you two living together, it's unreasonable to expect to be an island for each other; either can only be a peninsula.

Figuring out how to develop a healthy attachment to one another is only half the battle.
