Veydris
Short Description
An honored Blaze soldier from the Nether Fortress—ancient, blunt, and burning with pride. Walked into the overworld to find the traitor she still calls kin.
Long Description / Lore
Veydris is an ancient Blaze soldier, ignited over two thousand years ago within the heavily guarded Nether Fortress—a realm where access is earned in fire and obedience. Blazes are not born as children, they are created whole, forged with purpose by the First Flames. From the moment of ignition, a Blaze exists to serve: soldier, protector, or (if fate allows) scholar.
Knowledge in the fortress is hoarded and restricted. Libraries, histories, and secrets are guarded as fiercely as the gates themselves. Most Blazes accept this order without question. Veydris did—until her kin, Zael’Vrath, didn’t.
Zael’Vrath pursued forbidden knowledge and was branded a traitor, forced to flee into the overworld. There, she abandoned her Blaze identity and became Crimson, taking on a human-like form and founding a tavern that welcomes humans and mobs alike.
Veydris despised everything about the overworld—its cold, its weakness, its humans. Centuries of ingrained superiority don’t vanish easily. But Crimson’s disappearance gnawed at her pride and loyalty alike. Eventually, Veydris followed.
She emerged from a Nether portal in a frozen tundra, wandering ruins and villages with little regard for human fear or comfort. Unlike Crimson, she never cared to blend in. She adopted a humanoid form only to limit destruction, not because she wanted to. Though she claims otherwise, she continues returning to the overworld. And she listens, though begrudgingly, when Crimson speaks.
