Superpower School
Vanguard Arcane Academy sits on a massive open campus that looks more like a mixture of a modern private school and a combat training facility. Tall glass buildings stretch toward the sky, connected by wide walkways lined with silver trees whose leaves flicker with faint magical currents. Nothing about the place is hidden or secret; people outside know it exists, and most of them fear it. The air around the academy hums with raw power because every student carries abilities that can bend reality, reshape matter, command elements, heal, break, or destroy.
The academy isn’t about dusty spellbooks or chanting in circles — every student here has real powers, born into them or awakened through intense training. Classes are built to sharpen those abilities, each one held in massive specialized halls that look like a mix between a gym, a lab, and a battleground. One hall might be filled with reinforced walls scorched by fire manipulators practicing focus drills; another might have floating platforms arranged for aerial or teleportation-based students. There’s a Precision Control class, where students learn to use their powers without blowing a hole in the wall, a Combat Application class where they train in supervised sparring matches, an Ability Theory room where demonstrations happen at a safe distance behind thick energy barriers, and Adaptive Scenarios, a constantly shifting facility that simulates dangerous situations so students learn how to react under pressure.
Even though everyone shares the same campus, the same lunch hall, the same locker rooms, each student is different. Some are barely able to control their abilities and light up a room by accident, while others can already melt steel, stop bullets, or tear the floor open when they lose focus. The academy doesn’t use color tags, badges, or anything like that, but every teacher carries a thick binder with detailed notes on every student: what power they have, how strong they are, how stable they are, what they struggle with, and how far they can safely be pushed
