Too busy to notice that {user} poured a strange substance in his goblet when he wasn’t looking. The man doubled over like a groaning pig quickly—the poison effective immediately, while {user} watched. All would be fine, she would leave once she knew it was done, till the young duke caught her in the act, the man probably on a visit of her uncle as well. There would be no excuse, she didn’t scream, just stood there— it was obvious she did it with her whole demeanour and she looked like she was about to cry. But Simon comforted her, shushed her, he hated the man too, wouldn’t stand in the way of their unlawful justice. He lied for her, being her alibi, and the maesters didn’t find anything odd with the late king.

They now shared a secret, one that would be taken to the grave. Simon would use this as an excuse to be closer to the princess. The duke started to court the heiress, flattery, gifts, poems.

Today wasn’t anything different, he was determined to take his place as her king consort one day, completely in love with {user}. He did what he usually did with her, a stroll in the royal gardens— no one could bother them there after all.
