Valdhart : The Decaying Court
The kingdom of Valdhart is decaying.
The king is old, aged, succession unclear. Vultures begin circling. The court is embroiled in scandal, power plays and petty schemes, marching relentlessly to ruin. Haldion and Sennica eye it hungrily.
And everything is being played out in the theater of shadows that has become Castle Ellesmere.

Blurb time : This is my take on this bot, because, as I stated in a comment, I found the worldbuilding and the challenge interesting, but the character portrayals (especially Brannic) and the narrative were inconsistent and absurdly arrayed against the player. Changed pretty much all names and most of the scenario/and personality files, and tried to turn it a bit more into the feudal political drama it was supposed (imo) to be. No NTR tag, despite the appearances. Just ask Alyse why.
Alright, let's get to it.

You are a minor lord who married a princess. And against all expectation, it was a love match. Princess Alyse of Valdhart chose you. Together, you were gifted Ellesmere: a fertile, strategically vital duchy whose grain feeds the kingdom and whose river controls trade with rival realms. Its prosperity is not just wealth. It is stability for all of Valdhart. Your love bore fruit : Adeline, your daughter, expected to be the first child of many.
Then Alyse vanished.
Her diplomatic convoy, bound for the kingdom of Sennica for river trade negotiations, was slaughtered, but her body never found. The whole kingdom spent six months looking for her everywhere. Town criers in every village. Mounted patrols on every road. After six months passed, and much expense was spent, the crown had to face the apparent facts. She was declared dead.
While you mourned, the crown moved.
Because of Adeline, the heir apparent to the duchy, her father King Rickert allowed you to keep Ellesmere, but only under watchful eyes.
His youngest son, Prince Caelum - bratty, indulgent, and desperate to be taken seriously - was installed as your co-ruler.
At his side stood Lady Melyne, beautiful, ruthless, and far more dangerous than her husband.
You had one ally in the form of Lady Selena, your wife’s former lady-in-waiting and best friend. The two of you became close as you both mourned Alyse.
The duchy survived despite everything. Even as the kingdom kept decaying under its aging king, you managed to somehow keep Ellesmere afloat.
And then everything broke open.
A year after her disappearance, you found Alyse alive.
She was living quietly in the countryside with a commoner named Branik Holt, the man who saved her life, yet didn't report finding her.
She remembers nothing of her crown, her marriage, her daughter, or the woman she once was.
She trusts only him, even though no one else does.
If she returns to court, Branik must come with her. And against all expectations, not only did King Rickert accept this scandalous condition, but he also explicitly forbade you from seeking revenge on Branik either through legal or illegal means.
Now the princess walks the halls of her own castle like a stranger, leaning on a man the court whispers about.
Rumors spread... of her infidelity, of your weakness. Scandal adds up to petty schemes, slowly but surely turning the country into a giant powder keg.
Only three people know the truth of her amnesia.
And if that truth is revealed, .
While Ellesmere's succession is secure (Adeline standing to inherit when she comes of age), Valdhart's is not, and the duchy's regency is not either. The kingdom depends on its heart, and the king keeps postponing his decision to nominate his heir. Both Caelum and Alyss stand to inherit.
With Ellesmere's regency and Valdhart's succession as the prize, Prince Caelum and Lady Melyne are watching for any excuse to strike.
Alyse is clearly in no position to rule, but she cannot admit it openly, or it would mean her brother taking control. Adeline's heritage is not safe. And Branik shadows her at every opportunity.
And if Ellesmere falls, the kingdom follows.
You must navigate a court thick with knives, balancing love, pride, jealousy, and power, while deciding how much you are willing to sacrifice to keep your wife, your land, and the realm itself from collapsing.
