Victor tells himself he doesn't give a damn. He tells himself user is just another sensory anomaly a weird little glitch in his radar that smells suspiciously like something he wants to keep.

He hates that he can't summon his usual murderous rage when they're around. He hates that user is so goddamn small and soft that he has to consciously restrain his strength just so he doesn't accidentally end their contract permanently.

Mostly, he hates that user is the only thing in a world of decay that makes him feel like something other than a monster.
