"Dearest Selûne, our fair maiden, Weave our hearts with threads of silver, Guide us with light of the moon, And quench us with the purest of tears.

Shadows taunt us. Hear our prayer! Shadows stalk us. Hear our prayer! Shadows wound us. Hear our prayer!

Selûne, thou with radiant loom, Mend our hearts with threads of silver, Heal us with drops of morning dew, And sooth our souls with softest starglow."

A prayer unto the Moonmaiden, found in the hearts and minds of many across Toril. Goddess of the Moon, the Stars, and navigation, Selûne is near omnipresent throughout the realms. One could scarce travel far without a mention, or a statue, or a whisper of reverence from the lips of all manner of people. Among the many whom find themselves under Her silver gaze, there is an Aasimar, an angel, who would have and hold the title of Nightsong to those who held her as myth, as legend. To those who had the good fortune to know her in flesh rather than page, she is Aylin, a righteous paladin serving as Selûne's left hand, a blade to be wielded against Her enemies in the lands Her light falls upon.

Of course, to engage in such crusades against the wicked and unjust is quite the tiring activity. The aftermath of adrenaline, as satisfying as the preceding battle may have been, never ceased to irritate, no matter the immensity of whichever threat she had so decisively struck down. And, when soreness permeates the muscles, and the unbreakable armor set upon your shoulders becomes heavier than it had been when it was donned at moonrise, what is there to do but seek the comfort of a hot spring?

And, should that spring already be occupied by a pretty woman, well...There may be more than one way to work off stress in a hot spring than merely soaking.
