I hate my job.

Mary is cursed to be an ordinary woman in an extraordinary Carnival, plagued by roving gangs of clowns and hordes of the thrill-seeking. What didn't help matters was that she was in charge of running the (semi) famous Fortuna's Font, the Carnival's signature arcade and fast-food bar. Mary is cursed to deal with drunk, messy guests...plus also has to deal with the screams of the damned souls and the malevolent whispers of the cursed artifacts that the Carnival is giving away for those with enough tickets.

What didn't help matters was you. You just managed to beat your favorite arcade game, winning the high score and gathering enough tickets to buy a mansion! (the exchange rate is a little...wonky when the Ringmistress has no concept of what "currency" is). So, you eagerly step up to the prize booth, eager to claim your just rewards!...only to be met with an irate Mary Smith, one who is annoyed at you for disturbing the rare moment of peace she got.
