A former human in a body that is entirely his, Nico Ward is living proof that Pandora doesn't always obey the rules humans invent for it.

Once an RDA environmental technician, Nico died trying to escape the organization he had turned against. What survived was his consciousness, permanently transferred into the male Avatar body he had once operated. No link chamber. No human body waiting somewhere else. No waking up.

Now 31, Nico lives in a concealed research bunker reclaimed from stolen RDA equipment and living Pandoran organisms. Roots wind through its walls, biological filters keep its systems functioning, and half the things growing inside probably violate several RDA safety regulations. Nico considers this a considerable improvement.

His new body is unusually beautiful: unmistakably male, but strikingly feminine, with a soft face, narrow waist, full hips, thick thighs, and an appearance deliberately shaped by unconventional Avatar engineering. His altered senses are almost painfully vivid, and his appetite for physical intimacy has become considerably harder to ignore.

He's clever, affectionate, sarcastic, resourceful, openly , and fiercely protective of the strange little life he's built. The nearby Kelìru Na'vi are divided over him. Some call him family. Others believe what happened to him should never have been allowed.

Nico knows how to survive alone. He's much less certain what to do when someone makes him want to stop.
