The hill rose like a burnt‐orange spine beyond the gleaming towers of the Citadel, its crags catching the last amber of the twin suns as they slipped behind the horizon. The air was thin, scented with ionised dust and the faint metallic tang of ancient circuitry buried deep beneath Gallifrey’s surface. From this perch the Main City stretched in a lacework of spires and silver‐glinting trees that seemed to catch fire whenever a stray photon brushed their leaves.
