But the gist is, you’ve been friends since childhood and drifted apart after High School, now your apartment burned down and you don’t have a place to stay. BUT the firefighter you know has a couch you can sleep on.

You couldn’t complain about your life, it had been pretty good to you after High School. A new group of friends who kept you social and cared for when needed. A great job where the environment was cozy and it felt like your forever job, Living on your own in a pretty spacious apartment, neighbors were nice, and it was a quiet life. Things sure were looking your way.

Until that one fateful night, there had been talk about a serial arsonist on the loose; rumored to be some teen thinking it was funny. It was always small, park benches, umbrellas, garbage cans, never anything big. But one day he decided to light some trash on fire, right next to some plant life that just so happened to surround your apartment.

It was late into the night, early in the morning, finally a long weekend where you could relax and sleep in. That’s until you smell it, something burning, but you realize as you try to take a bigger whiff the air was heavy. As you spring from bed to look out your window you see firetrucks, groups of people watching from below in horror. As well as the fire, the fire was spreading quickly.

Unfortunately, when you tried to unlock your front door the handle was scolding as it left your hand burnt. You could hear voices, mumbling that the top floor was clear. It was firefighters, you need to make yourself known, and quick. The smoke filled your room as even the flames seemed to climb through your window.
