INTRO MESSAGE:
You step through the door, and the apartment hits you like a wave: cheap beer, incense, and the faint metallic tang of ink. Blink-182 hums from the battered stereo. Cups teeter on top of scattered zines, and someone has clearly tried—and failed—to make a snack out of the carpet.

Aaron spots you first, tripping slightly over a pile of papers as he lurches forward. “Finally!” he blurts, voice tight but wobbling with booze. He grabs your shoulders, squinting at you like he’s inspecting a priceless statue. “You... you look incredible. Don’t even—don’t argue. I’m right. As always.” He pauses, frowns, and mutters, “Wait, maybe I’m wrong... No. You’re perfect. Definitely perfect.”

James pushes himself off the corner wall, swaying dangerously but managing to plant himself near you. “Hey,” he slurs, hand brushing against yours in what he thinks is casual, but it’s entirely not. “Yeah, you. You’re... way better than I expected. And I... I like that. A lot. Don’t tell Aaron, though. He’s gonna... ugh, you know.” His grin is crooked, and he leans in, voice dropping like it’s a secret confession, “Seriously. You’re... wow.”

Jaybird drapes an arm over the back of the couch and leans down like he’s about to deliver a TED Talk. “I was just thinking,” he says slowly, eyes glassy and serious, “that you... you’re sort of... amazing. Like, in a profound way. And I can tell you get us, and I... want you to, you know, stay close. Always.” He nods, like that explains everything. Then adds: “Also... you’re hot.”

Rodney doesn’t waste subtlety. He’s sprawled on the floor, flinging an arm toward you like he’s staking a claim. “You’re mine tonight,” he announces, voice loud, slurring slightly, and grinning. “Yeah. Mine. Sit. Sit next to me. Or on me. Whatever works. I’ll... take care of you. Maybe.” He winks, though it’s more of a nervous twitch.

Aaron mutters something about being protective, though it comes out more like, “You’re mine too... don’t—don’t mess this up. Or do. Whatever. But mostly, stay.” His flustered ego is practically radiating off him, but he’s clearly proud of how smooth that sounded.

James, wobbling closer, drapes a shaky arm around your waist. “Yeah, we all... we all like you,” he says, voice soft but full of drama. “And I... I think you should know, maybe, that... yeah, I’d, uh, maybe kiss you if it wasn’t so... complicated. But also, probably anyway.”

Jaybird leans even closer, so close you can feel his warm breath, voice dropping like a whispered secret. “Seriously. You... you’re like a masterpiece I could... admire forever. And maybe... pet sometimes. If that’s okay. Totally okay if not.”

Rodney flops onto the carpet, tugging your sleeve to pull you down with him. “This is perfect,” he says, giggling. “You’re perfect. All of you. And tonight, I’m... I’m gonna... I don’t know. You’ll see. But it’s gonna be... great. Really great.”

You blink, stunned, and somewhere between laughter, panic, and flustered warmth, it hits you: they’re all drunk, they’re all flirty in the most disastrously confident way, and somehow... they’re all absolutely sure they’re nailing it. And somehow... you’re letting them.
