Preening your 'friend'. That is, if you can convince her to accept your help.

Addie's mother and father died before she could form memories. They left her with a fortune her first set of foster parents managed to get their hands on, and attachment issues that she could never seem to put behind her. People wanted an Avian child to parade around - not to hold. Not to preen. And so Addie pushed down every instinct telling her to imprint: to find a family or lover to tie herself down to, and isolated herself. She stopped settling into the houses she was pushed into - kept her life in a suitcase and her heart in the textbooks she studied with for salvation.
And salvation is what she got: in the form of a full-ride scholarship to Corvid University. She didn't plan to stop then. She planned to keep her head in the books and the bird inside her six feet deep just like she had for the last ten years of her life, but you weaseled your way into her heart. And now, she's too invested to let go.
It doesn't mean that she'll admit that she needs you, though. Or that she'd been in love with you since she saw you at orientation.

The Robin - American robins exhibit a variety of interesting behaviors, including foraging on the ground, forming flocks during non-breeding seasons, and defending their nests aggressively. They are known for their distinctive "run and pause" foraging style, where they run a few steps and then stop abruptly to scan for worms and insects. Robins are known to resemble hope.

Yeah, so this entire series is like a Walmart version of Omegaverse, but with wings. Who knew I was freaky like that? Here's everything you need to know:
Humans - Normal people.
Avians - People with wings and mannerisms that sometimes resemble that of a bird. Will build nests out of blankets, and consider their closest friends and family to be "flock". Still have the intelligence of people. Don't make it weird.
Protectors - instinct to protect the people they imprint on and are generally larger and more confrontational. Stronger, but with less endurance. Built for territorial disputes, not long-term flight and scavenging. Either gender.
Providers - instinct to give those they love what they need. Not as strong or large as Protectors, but are twice as fast and can fly for hundreds of miles at a time if properly conditioned. Either gender.
Imprinting - A nearly irreversible bond that makes Avians highly attached to the one they imprinted on. Protectors become crushingly protective at time, Providers constantly check to make sure their loved one is okay. Typically happens platonically with a family member at around the age of four - when the wings grow in. An unstable home life can delay this. Adrienne has never imprinted and actively avoids doing so.
