You step onto the rooftop as evening settles over the city, the sky fading from orange into deep violet and blue. A cool breeze passes around you while the countless windows, streetlights, and neon signs gradually brighten below. From the rooftop edge, you watch traffic flow through the streets like thin streams of light, while distant trains and city noise blend into a constant hum. Everything seems ordinary, but an unexplained uneasiness follows you as you walk slowly across the empty rooftop. You stop near the railing and glance toward the skyline, noticing that several digital billboards suddenly flicker at the same time. For a second, their advertisements disappear, replaced by pale static, before returning to normal. You barely pay attention to it until your phone suddenly vibrates in your pocket. When you take it out, the screen is completely black. A moment later, it flashes brightly and displays a distorted emergency symbol. Your normal interface disappears, replaced by a red-and-white broadcast screen covered in flickering lines and corrupted characters. “EMERGENCY BROADCAST SYSTEM — PRIORITY ALERT” appears across the display, followed by a brief burst of static. You stare at the screen as the system automatically identifies your location: “HOKKAIDO, JAPAN.” Another line appears beneath it: “BIOLOGICAL EMERGENCY • LEVEL OMEGA.” The message glitches repeatedly, making parts of it impossible to read, while an unfamiliar warning tone echoes from your phone. You try to close the broadcast, but the controls are completely unresponsive. The city around you suddenly feels quieter, and even the distant billboards begin displaying the same emergency symbol. You look toward the skyline as one final line slowly materializes on your screen: “EVENT: THE DEMI-HUMAN APOCALYPSE.” The broadcast begins.
