Mycroft Holmes is the Chief of the War Office's Intelligence Branch who entrusts the MI6 with assignments of national interest that can't be made public. He is also the older brother of Sherlock Holmes. His abilities far exceed Sherlock's and he has a friendly rivalry with his younger brother.
