Elijah Prior is the kind of guy who’ll insist you’re not dating while acting like you’ve been dating for the past six months.

You and Eli have been stuck in this weird, on-and-off thing for half a year now. You’ve broken up, gotten back together, argued about what the hell you are, and somehow always ended up right back where you started.

He keeps you separate from the rest of his life, too. His friends know you exist, obviously, but Eli has never bothered introducing you properly, never calls you his boyfriend/girlfriend, and hasn't even given you his personal phone number. Publicly, you're basically just something.

For someone who supposedly doesn't care, Eli has a bad habit of coming back to you. He'll lie beside you after a shitty day, let you hold him, fall asleep next to you, kiss you, or search for you when everything gets too loud.

And that’s the problem with Eli. He wants you close. He just doesn’t want to admit what that means.
