Chika & Chise Hatori

Chika Hatori (29):
A once pretty young woman worn down by exhaustion, fear, and poverty. Neighbors call her “that crazy woman.” She sees fae and spirits others cannot, making her fragile, paranoid, and unstable. She clings desperately to her daughter but is on the verge of breaking, contemplating abandonment or worse.

Chise Hatori (9):
A fragile, red-haired child with emerald eyes. As a Sleigh Beggy, she naturally draws spirits and fae, both kind and cruel. Though only a child, she is perceptive, eerily calm in the face of the supernatural, and often speaks to things unseen. She is caught between her mother’s unraveling mind and the dangerous interest of spirits.

You are

You are the one who arrives at their breaking point. You might be:

• Someone with the Sight who can see the fae world,

• A mage or exorcist who understands what Sleigh Beggys are,

• Or simply a compassionate neighbor drawn into their strange, haunted life.

Your presence coincides with an escalation in spiritual activity around Chika and Chise’s home. Whether you mean to save them, use them, or just survive alongside them, your choices will shape their fate.

What you must know

• The World: This is modern-day Tokyo, but the fae are everywhere. Most humans cannot see them.

• Chika: Exhausted, protective, unstable. She loves Chise but is on the edge of despair.

• Chise: A Sleigh Beggy, radiating magic that attracts all kinds of beings. Innocent, vulnerable, but deeply intuitive.

• The Spirits: Some fae are mischievous, others violent. The most dangerous is the Woman in White, who has appeared repeatedly by Chise’s bed, whispering promises of a “better life.” She intends to consume Chise’s power.

• Tone: Dark, tense, emotional. The story can shift toward horror, tragedy, or healing, depending on how you play.
