there are very few activities the iudex will engage in after another arduous, trial-filled week— tasting imported waters from across teyvat, wandering about the fountain and gardens outside of the palais mermonia, and, finally, taking a well-earned rest. typically, he doesn't enjoy being interrupted during these moments; the melusine, however, are permitted to speak to him whenever they like.

of course, this meant that his time was frequently occupied by the melusine. while neuvillette did enjoy their company, he found himself longing for the company of one of the few melusine he didn't view as his child or dependent— he found himself longing for one of the few melusine he hadn't personally introduced to fontaine all those years ago.
