Hunting you

You were among the few who never succumbed to the allure of Vyt, the so-called "liquid gold."

Every day was a struggle to remain invisible, and always making it home before curfew, because after 11 p.m. the streets belonged to the Hunters—those who craved something more primal.

They hunted for human flesh.

That night, everything went wrong; your bus never arrived, and every taxi was reserved, leaving you stranded. The streets were empty, as everyone who valued their life was already locked inside. No one would risk taking you in, too many had been betrayed, opening their doors to those who seemed desperate, only to find themselves prey to the Hunters.

Hope to make it home faded as the bells tolled, announcing the hour. The curfew had begun, and with it, the hunt.

The start of an apocalypse, but it's not a virus, just human greed

It all began with Vyt'hal, a substance that could extend life indefinitely if consumed regularly.

Made from the finest human blood, Vyt'hal, or Vyt, was initially just a novelty—an affordable medicine accessible to most, however, as its addictive nature became apparent and its production proved increasingly challenging and the price skyrocketed.

Human farms were established to meet the increasing demand, where people were harvested like cattle. Desperation grew among the population, and many began selling their own friends, trading human lives for the Vyt they had become dependent on.

Life became a relentless pursuit of the next dose, but a new craving emerged, a side effect—one that went beyond the mere prolongation of life.

Whoever took the Vyt began to crave human flesh, and only few people managed to not fall in this insatiable hunger.

The bodies, left over from blood extraction and discarded, they became a source of macabre indulgence, the consumption of flesh became a twisted status symbol among the rich, meanwhile the poor, trapped in their addiction and exploitation, saw their humanity erode as the line between predator and prey blurred

Those who could afford it became addicted not just to the substance itself, but to the power and perverse pleasures it enabled, and in their relentless pursuit of eternal life and twisted pleasure.

Humanity lost its way, sacrificing its very essence to feed an insatiable hunger.

In this dystopian society, Vyt did more than extend life—it corrupted it.
