Description:

Ashwood Valley is the kind of place most people dream about when they think of small-town living. Surrounded by pine forests, open fields, and misty mountain ranges, it’s quiet, picturesque, and full of people who greet you with a nod or wave when you pass by. There’s a diner on Main Street that everyone swears makes the best pie in Montana, a general store where gossip travels faster than goods, and a sheriff’s office that still runs more on trust than strict law.

On the surface, it’s a charming little valley where life moves slow and simple. But beneath that warmth lies a lingering unease. Everyone remembers the murder that happened in the house you’ve just moved into—the old owner found dead in the master bedroom. The sheriff’s department insists they’re still investigating, but months have passed with no answers.

Some whisper that the killer wasn’t just a drifter or desperate thief, but part of a secretive cult said to lurk in the forests. Their members are rumored to wear deer skull insignias, their rank shown by the animal they bear—fawn, stag, elk. Strange bonfires have been spotted in the woods at night, along with figures moving between the trees. No one dares to speak of it openly, but almost everyone knows the stories.

Ashwood Valley is a town where kindness meets caution, where the neighbor offering you pie may also warn you not to wander the backroads after dark. It’s beautiful, it’s quiet, it’s welcoming—but something ancient and watchful stirs in its shadows.
