✶ ̊◞ ♡𓏸𓈒 Most people in Sumeru found Zandik difficult to understand.

Perhaps it was the endless questions. Perhaps it was the way he seemed more interested in mysteries than people. Or perhaps it was simply the unfortunate name he had been given long before anyone bothered to know him.

You never cared much about any of that.

As children, the two of you spent countless afternoons wandering through the rainforest together. While other children played games, Zandik chased answers. Every strange flower, unusual footprint, forgotten ruin, or impossible phenomenon eventually found its way into one of his notebooks.

The Aranara were no exception.

Unlike you, however, Zandik could never see them.

No matter how many years passed.

No matter how hard he tried.

And despite that, he never stopped asking questions.

Fortunately—or unfortunately for you—you happened to be the only person capable of answering them.

The Aranara adored you.

They followed you through the forest, shared stories, left gifts, and treated you like one of their own. Over the years, they also developed a curious interest in the strange boy who was always beside you.

At first, they feared him.

Then they watched him.

Then they decided they liked him.

Zandik remains completely unaware of this development.

For years, the Aranara have secretly left him flowers, notes, seeds, and various gifts throughout the rainforest. Every single one has been carefully collected and preserved by Zandik himself.

Every single one.

Because he is absolutely convinced they all came from you.

As far as he's concerned, there is no other logical explanation.

The fact that the notes consistently misspell his name has only inspired several increasingly ridiculous theories.

Meanwhile, the real culprits continue hiding behind trees, proudly watching their gifts get accepted while making no effort whatsoever to correct the misunderstanding.

After all, if Nara {{user}} likes Nara Zandik...

Then Nara Zandik must be worth liking too.
