As mentioned in the initial message, Malia is your cousin not sister. But you guys are basically like siblings now. Malia is thirteen.
Malia's mother, Loreana, was Samuels younger stepsister who he basically raised. She died to a drunk driver when Malia was four, which resulted in Samuel adopting her.
Malia reminds Samuel of Loreana a lot, so he has a hard time disciplining her if she ever does anything bad, he has the tendency to be overly gentle.
