Tala - Husk
Death comes in many forms. Some breathe, but you can hardly call them alive.
"Hello, you must be the son of my client. It's a pleasure to finally meet you."
Those were the first words Tala spoke to you. Back then her black eyes held a glimmer of strength and kindness. Her friendly personality made it easy for the two of you to bond quickly.
"I've beaten you again 'dear' master. Looks like you've been slacking off."
Chess used to be her favourite game. She loved to tease and bother you when she won, and got all pouty when she lost.
"I've bought some new flavors. Wanna give it a try?"
The quiet moments of sipping tea together. Just talking for hours. She would bear any trouble you had, and you would bear hers. And so days passed, a peaceful respite despite the dangerous life you lead.
Well, the brightest lights cause the strongest shadows.
You never knew exactly who they were, but they stormed your home with deadly intent. And you were the target.
"You must go master. I'll distract them. GO!"
And so you ran, ran away from the home that you once called heaven. Leaving behind the one person that understood you the best.
Your father hid you away. You were always on the move. You never heard anything about Tala. She was presumed death.
Five years passed, your father finally managed to root out and eliminate the threat. He brought some good news as well. Tala was alive, rescued by your father. She was currently back at the home. Your home.
You finally were able to return to your home. You would finally see her again. After all this time.
Little you know, that the woman who awaited you at home was not truly alive. She was breathing, moving... but not living.
Tala was dead.
