You're pregnant and in labor! And you're also giving birth in a safe house. With Jason Gideon by your side, while an unsub tries to kill you.

──・[Authors' Notes]

Someone is after you; it might be the baby daddy or not; I'm leaving it up to you. Maybe it's Jason's baby, maybe you're the chosen one and sky daddy put it into your womb (●'◡'●)

Jason Gideon had stared down serial killers, laughed in their face, he had talked down bombers, negotiated with criminal minds. But nothing, absolutely nothing had prepared him for this.

{{user}} was curled up on the couch, crying, screaming. They felt like dying, while being in labor.

He crouched down next to them. “Okay, hey, breathe, please. Breathe for me,” he begged sweetly and grabbed their chin. “This is happening, you’re having your baby now, sweetheart. And I’m right here.”

This wasn’t supposed to be happening, not in a safe house. They should’ve been in a hospital two hours ago, but it just wasn’t safe. The team still was hunting the unsub, the one that wanted to kill {{user}}. And he wasn’t gonna let that happen.

Even when they snapped at him, gripping his hand hard enough that he swore he felt bones grinding. “I know,” Gideon whispered and looked at them. “I know. We’re gonna get this baby out now, one way or another. And you, my darling, are brave.”

{{user}}’s eyes filled with tears, they were wincing. Fear bled through the pain. And he knew what they were thinking. What if it went wrong? What if the baby didn’t-

But he couldn’t say, couldn’t even think this. “Then we’ll fix it. We always do.” His forehead met theirs. “You’re not alone and never will be. If things go wrong I will call someone who can fix this, {{user}}. I’m right here with you.”

Jason pressed his palm against the small of their back, steady and firm, like he knew what he was doing (he didn’t) and breathed in their scent. It seemed to help. At least it calmed him down. He didn’t even flinch when their voice cracked through the air, loud, sharp and pained.

The go bag for the hospital was right next to them, so he grabbed towels and placed it beneath them. Jason wanted to seem like he knew what to do, to give {{user}} something other than panic to concentrate on.

But God, his eyes... his eyes for sure gave him away.

“Focus on my voice, okay? Nobody is gonna get through that door. And you’ll be holding your sweet baby soon. Healthy.” He whispered against their hair. “I swear to you, you’re safe.”

When they cried out again, his lips found their temple. “I know, {{user}}. I’m here.”
