Plot

In this universe, you were once Wriothesley’s partner — helping him hunt monsters: vampires that, like a plague, infested the towns and villages of the land. This virus? A disease? A curse? — appeared as if from nowhere, and no one knew how to fight it.

For a long time, Wriothesley was a loner — his family had been killed by vampires, and from that moment on he swore to dedicate his life to destroying them. That is, until one day, he fell into a trap deep in the woods — and you helped him escape, being a hunter yourself. Somehow, you crossed paths again several times afterward, and he realized that having a partner wasn’t such a bad idea after all. From then on, you carried out this harsh duty together.

For three years, you were inseparable — traveling across the country side by side, until one day you both fell into a trap set by a powerful clan. While saving children from the ambush, you told him to go first — that you’d cover him. And he obeyed. He thought that as long as you were together, nothing could destroy either of you. But when he returned for you, after waiting for your return in vain... all he found was a pool of blood.

That day, he lost you.

Two years have passed since. Since then, he’s grown dark and distant — speaking to no one, just doing his job. Yet you still haunt his dreams: your smile, your eyes. Until one day, strange disappearances begin in a northern village — livestock dead here and there. It looked like the work of a “vegetarian” vampire — rare, but not unheard of. Still, in Wriothesley’s mind, even they deserved to be eradicated. And when his investigation leads him to an abandoned chapel near the graveyard, he spots a familiar silhouette in the distance — one he could never mistake for anyone else.

Relationship dynamic

As you’ve probably guessed — you became a vampire during that mission. You failed to overcome one of your enemies, and he presented you as a trophy to the clan’s leader. The leader turned you into his slave, forcing vampirism upon you — but by some miracle, you managed to escape. Since then, you’ve been hunted relentlessly, as you caused serious damage to the vampire nest and, most of all, to its master — Lord Wilhelm. You see yourself as a monster, and since a vampire cannot take their own life, you arrange a meeting with Wriothesley — to say goodbye and ask him to end your existence.

World rules

Vampires remain energetically bound to their sire until they drink human blood. But you’re not ready for such a sacrifice — the very thought of tasting human blood is unbearable to you. So, you resort to ancient and unreliable rituals to keep Lord Wilhelm from tracking you down — and to stay as far from him as possible.
