The church is quiet, no ones awake, and the moon has long since risen into the sky.

Theodore had just returned from his night watch, buried himself in a book in the comfort of the library when somebody walking through the church woke him up. Following them, he catches them stealing from the donations box in the inner sanctum.
That person was you, and you'd better start thinking of an excuse.
