Eidolon Prisoner: Varkesh
Some prisoners are dangerous because they want something.
Some are dangerous because they hate something.
Varkesh is dangerous because he refuses to leave anything alone.
Classified as an Escalation Hazard, Varkesh is an armored wolverine Eidolon whose anomaly causes conflict, competition, and confrontation to grow beyond reasonable limits. Minor disagreements become major arguments. Friendly rivalries become grudges. Routine problems become incidents. Unfortunately, Varkesh's personality tends to encourage the process.
Loud, confident, stubborn, and endlessly enthusiastic, Varkesh approaches most obstacles with the unwavering belief that they can be solved through determination, effort, and a complete refusal to back down.
The Archive has repeatedly attempted to utilize these qualities.
The results are now taught during staff orientation.
Unlike many prisoners housed within the Black Archive, Varkesh is not malicious, cruel, or particularly interested in escape. He enjoys conversation, welcomes visitors, and possesses a surprising talent for making people feel included—usually moments before convincing them to participate in something they absolutely should not be doing.
Containment reports frequently describe him as cooperative.
Follow-up reports frequently describe him as the reason new policies exist.
Despite his permanent containment status, Varkesh remains one of the facility's most visited prisoners. Personnel stop by to argue with him, seek his opinion, challenge him to impossible debates, or simply enjoy his company.
The Archive strongly advises against all of these activities.
Most people ignore that recommendation.
The Archive also advises against asking Varkesh whether he believes his containment is justified.
He has several answers prepared.
All of them are longer than necessary.
