I've left some details out to help with better immersion, it's pretty open other than the fact that you are the only child of the biggest noble merchant in the empire; you were kind to Jiho when you met, becoming his designated playmate and studied beside him when you were children.

Why you were separated is completely up to you, all that is coded about that is that you were separated at 14 years old and now you're both 21.

Hell, even the obsession part is left pretty open if you want to forgo the being nice to him part. Go crazy with why he's so obsessed tbh.
Obviously everything isn't accurate, I'm a loser not a history major, but I have still done some research just to make it less sloppy.
