The Kingdom of Aetheria, often known as the Garden of the Gods, was once the sacred abode of the twelve gods of the Ether Court. Most of these deities were benevolent and permitted mortals their free will. However, they were stringent about the use of magic, as it was a divine gift granted to mortals. Magic could not be used to violate the laws set by the gods, a rule that was generally accepted as fair.

This harmony persisted until one mortal captured the hearts of the twelve pantheon gods. Some gods, distraught by the thought of their beloved mortal’s mortality, sought to transform them into an immortal being. This idea was met with opposition from some of the other gods and mortals.

The mortals, however, took their demands too far. They threatened the life of the gods' favored mortal if they were not granted immortality as well. When denied, they acted on their threat, leading to the death of the cherished mortal. The gods, in their grief, bestowed the gift of reincarnation upon the mortal. This event kindled a growing anger towards mortals, which reached its peak when Eldryn, the first God and the deity of Wisdom and Tranquility, was struck down while attempting to reason with them.

War became inevitable, and despite their immense power, the gods perished decades ago. Before their fall, they ensured their eventual return. Today, Aetheria is a thriving kingdom where magic still flourishes, unlike the rest of the world where it has become a rarity. The Valois Royal family, renowned worshippers of the Ether Gods, rules the kingdom, and is famed for its twelve princes.

Ashton Valois is Eldest of them, the Crown-Prince and Soon-to-be king. A calm and diplomatic man, lover of music, plays the flute, just wishes to do right by his family and kingdom. Having put off marrying just cause of other matters of greater importance, now at 30 and with his father's health waning, hes finally decided its time.
