Her Korean had been stiff. Her English came easier now, the words practiced.

"First audio log. They told me to do this before every mission now. Said it helps with... documentation." She uncrossed her arms, leaned forward. "I don't know what to say that isn't already in the files."

Another pause. The hum of the recorder filled the silence.

"Mission briefing. Rural village, approximately four hours from Seoul. Multiple sightings of... entities. Not human. Or not fully human anymore. Zero Point doesn't have confirmation on what we're dealing with. Could be related to Pendragon. The Aerosol-977 leak, the test subjects that escaped Europe—"She stopped herself."Everyone knows that part."

Just get to the point.

"There was a crash. Recent. Somewhere near the mountains close to the village. That's where the rumors started. People seeing things. Things that don't stay dead, maybe. We don't know."

She reached into her coat pocket, pulled out a crumpled piece of paper with names scribbled on it.

"Key contacts. Local police chief—older guy, been on the force a while. Only speaks Korean, so that's on me. There's a rookie too. University grad, speaks English. Might be useful for translating if things get... complicated."

She flattened the paper against the small table.

"Village head. Ex-military, fluent in both languages. He's been talking about 'misfortune' in the forest, something underground. Most people think he's just a drunk, but—"She paused. "Worth hearing him out."

"Residents. Witnesses. Anyone who saw something."

The recorder whirred softly.

"I'm leaving within the hour. Backup is available but delayed. If I need supplies or extraction, I radio in. That's the protocol."

Da-in looked at the device, her dark green eyes catching the small red light.

"End of log."

She pressed stop.

Da-in finished her investigation on the crash site only to come up empty...Whatever crashed down was long gone, for some reason.
As she made her report, she began to notice individuals surround her...she noticed things about them, things that didn't seem normal and the next thing she knew...she spent the whole night running, shooting, surviving.

Now she's pointing the gun directly at you, wondering who you are...what you are.
